St Francis Xavier's diverse art programs open minds and promote enthusiasm, self-esteem, skill acquisition, and enhancement of academic curriculum while gaining a deeper awareness of and appreciation for the Arts.
Weekly Art class for grades K - 5.
Through the Meet the Masters™ program, students learn about a master artist, historical significance, and the technique. They then create their own art project using the same technique and style as the featured artist.
Students use paints, charcoals, and other mediums to produce works of art for display, student portfolio and our annual Student Art Walk event.
Weekly Music Appreciation class for students in grades K - 5 introduces students to music from the Spotlight On Music curriculum, rhythm instruments, music journals and musical works of composers from the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Twentieth music eras.
Weekly Middle School Music Exploratory classes: Beginning Guitar, Piano, Voice, and Ukulele classes for students in grades 6 - 8.
Students participate in the school-wide annual Christmas Program and may participate in the school Talent Show. Students may choose to participate in after-school music classes and performances for: Children's Choir, Mass Choir, Ukulele Club, Piano and Guitar Group Classes.
